In 2021 20,835 people were killed by gun violence in the United States. This work is about how the Second Amendment ensures that gun culture is deeply woven into the fabric of American society and will remain with us. Still, it is also about the social cost of our gun culture. At $1 per bullet casing/human life, the artwork addresses the unsavory task of placing a value on human life and raises the question: how much do we value human lives in our country? The United States is the only country where people kill others in such volume and regularity. We have to talk about why.
